The Challenge
A healthcare startup needed to launch a telehealth platform in 3 months — hard deadline set by a regulatory window. The platform had to cover video consultations, appointment scheduling, patient records, prescription management, and integration with an existing EHR system via HL7. Standard healthcare software vendors quoted 12–18 months. They came to us.
What We Built
We shipped a React Native mobile app (iOS + Android) paired with a .NET backend on PostgreSQL, using WebRTC for peer-to-peer video with a TURN server fallback for poor connections. The scheduling system handled time zone management, doctor availability calendars, and automated reminders. HL7 v2 message parsing handled EHR integration, and all patient data was encrypted at rest and in transit following HIPAA guidelines.
The Outcome
We hit the 3-month deadline and passed regulatory review on the first submission. Within 6 months of launch the platform had over 10,000 registered patients and was processing 500+ consultations per week. Doctor onboarding time dropped to under 10 minutes. The startup used the platform to close their Series A. The codebase has required only routine maintenance since launch — no major incidents.
